Praedyth – Part 1

The screams were deafening. Despite the stoic resolve of the Wardens, Praedyth watched – paralyzed by his own horror – as his town burned. The stalwart nature of both he and his kinsmen was shattered, replaced by terror and inaction. Swirling fires engulfed all that there was to see. The cinders danced melodically, almost shuddering by themselves as the shrieks of those trapped inside the buildings pierced the low rumble of embers. The buildings which, to Praedyth’s utter despair, would soon become their tombs.

Enter the Gungeon is a fantastic rogue-like dungeon crawler with guns, bullets, firearms and weaponry. Dungeons & Dragons – Infallible Imbeciles Anonymous – Part #1

Ceaselessly exhuding steam and malcontent, the black Dragonkin’s face is torrid with an unnatural fury and unease at the shackles which bind her wrists in-front of her. Restless, the towering figure of obsidian scales paces, scratching her claws along the cave floor as she does so. The acidic venom which froths from her mouth leaks it’s scalding ferocity into the beast’s very vernacular as she spits her words at the figure unfortunate enough to be shackled beside her.

A Tribute to Starman – Kojima’s Muse

A matter of days after the release of legend David Bowie’s new album Blackstar, the world has been shocked at the news that he has passed away after an 18 month battle with cancer. It’s one of those surreal historical moments – one of those still frames in your mind that you’ll recall when people ask you where were you when David Bowie died?

No Man’s Sky – Colonizing and Combat

If you’ve been following my posts for a while now, you’ll know that I’m quite excited for the release of No Man’s Sky. I even made a terrible Buzzfeed list. I’m behind the eight ball for sure, but the new trailer showcases some more in-depth interstellar exploration and, more interestingly, a peek at the combat.

GTA:V – Everything’s Better With Lightsabers

GTA:V was a resounding success; a newly-crowned king on the throne of the titanic sandbox genre. The game had everything – a variety of modifiable guns, customisable cars and a myriad of airborne vehicles with destructive arsenals. Scripted and voice-acted storylines. Amicable characters. Multiplayer. Sharks.

The Binding of Isaac – Greedy Glutes

A few weeks after arriving in South Korea to begin teaching, my brother pointed me to the Youtube feed of a guy who he listened to a lot – Northernlion. In the absence of typically hearing a western voice over here outside of work, he’d become quite accustomed to watching his videos and wanted to share them with me, notably Northernlion’s The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth series. Though skeptical at first, I was soon hooked and downloading it myself. Here I am 8 months later having put 200 hours into the game myself, and the latest DLC – Afterbirth – has a lot of great stuff to throw into an already hectic mix.

Fallout 4 – Viva la Commonwealth

Fallout 4 crept up on me a bit, with the sudden post-release hype motivating me to buy the slightly cheaper version on PC. My brother, who I live with, has also recently bought it on PS4 and, suffice it to say, the hours of our free time are disappearing alarmingly fast.

In a good way.
